Major investment to key recreational areas, including Mother's Beach, Ho Hum Beach, Osborn and Bandshell Park
Since 2012, we have executed many projects to enhance the infrastructure and
enjoyment of these Village recreational areas
Mother's Beach
Projects executed at Mother’s Beach have been:

-
Inaugural Bite Back mosquito spraying and green fly traps to ensure the enjoyment of this great Village asset
-
Two major playground upgrades with new equipment and sand
-
New stylized automated entry gate to provide access by Residents year-round.
-
New post rail fencing
-
Construction of an attractive wooden lattice screen for the porta lavs
-
Industrial professional beach cleanup and sweeping to also include the Marina Playground
-
New picnic tables
-
New bike racks
Annually there is a free public event for Village Residents called “Family Night at Mothers Beach” conducted by the BVPF. The famous and historic Flo’s Food Truck is on hand for this entire event. The goal of this event is to bring together current and new families that are living here in the Village to introduce them to the BVPF and to each other. There are usually about 250 people attending this multi-generational gathering with many purchasing food from the Flo's truck. The evening celebrates the BVPF mission and its collaboration with the Village of Bellport.
Ho Hum Beach
Projects executed at Ho Hum Beach have been:

-
Inaugural Bite Back mosquito spraying and green fly traps to ensure the enjoyment of this great Village asset
-
Beautiful umbrellas at the Ho Hum Ferry Landing for waiting ferry riders
-
Introduction of Radio Flyer Red Wagons to carry beach gear (and kids!) back and forth to the beach.
It is anticipated that the BVPF will be renovating the small snack bar/kitchen in conjunction with the Village replacement and upgrade of the sole source of power at Ho Hum, its 25+ year old solar panel field.
Osborn and Bandshell Parks
Projects executed at Osborn and Bandshell Parks have been:

-
Recent inclusion of Bite Back coverage for mosquito spraying and green fly traps for enjoyment of this great Village asset.
-
Develop standard-style benches and picnic tables for this park. These “1939 Worlds Fair” benches were purchased by the BVPF and installed at this great Memorial Park.
-
These benches have been designated as the only type of benches to be used by the Village, including as memorial benches.
-
Similar style picnic tables also installed throughout Bandshell and Osborn Parks.
-
Complete renovation of dock playground, including new playground equipment.
-
The BVPF spearheaded the creation and installation of the 9/11 memorial, working with local artisans and volunteers.
